Dr Maurice Chan uses an expressive, personal style, characterized by the use of bold strokes, resulting in a heavily textured surface. His paintings are more personal expression of the emotions invoked by the subjects, than pursuance of likeness. Some paintings evoke feelings of mystery or melancholy. Dr Maurice’s imagination use of colours and expressive brush strokes are influenced by Vlaminck and Fauvism. Dr Maurice Chan has volunteered in the APHN World Hospice Palliative Care Day.
